My uncle knew forty years ago that computers were going to be a significant part of our lives in "the future." As such, he encouraged my parents to send me to a coding summer camp when I was 13. I took what I learned in that camp and started building databases of all my favorite comic book characters. I never looked back. Forty-one years later, computers are a big part of my life. By day, I am an IT Manager, and at night, I am a video game designer.

My journey into IT began with a summer coding camp at 13.

I have been fascinated by photography since I first saw a National Geographic magazine at school. When I got into IT, I turned to photography as a way to slow down and disconnect from technology. I resisted going digital for a while to maintain my disconnect but the pull of technolgy was too strong. I am still an avid photographer but now my tools are digital.

Arts:

When I was in elementary school, I wanted to be Ace Frehly from the rock band KISS. He was one of the best guitarist at the time and all I wanted to do was play like him. A few years later, my parents signed me up for guitar lessons. I played until some time in high school and then stopped. Fast forward to nine years ago, my wife bought me a guitar for Christmas because all I ever talked about some days was playing again. I've been taking lessons, playing whenever I can, and collecting guitars ever since.

Music:

When I was a kid, I would ride my bike all day, every day, whenever the weather permitted. It was a taste of freedom to do whatever I wanted, within reason and within reach of two legs & two wheels. I eventually graduated to motorcycles, but there was always something about bicycles I missed. Earlier this year, I pulled the trigger and bought a mountain bike. After my first ride, I was hooked again. I have since made a few more purchases and got my wife involved in the fun. I read about bikes every day and even learned how to do my own maintenance. It's very therapeutic and still as freeing today as it was all those ago, when I was a kid.
